Make Dog Snuggies Your Own Self!

Here is are some complaints that many pet owners have about commercially purchased dog snuggies. Maybe one of these issues has stopped you from purcasing one of these cozy and convenient dog outerwear products for yourself.

  • There are no snuggies for big dogs. The largest size you can buy on the market is only made for dogs that weight less than 30 pounds. That leaves many larger dogs out in the cold! Your cute little pug may be fine, but what about your full grown standard sized poodle?
  • Commercial products only seem to come in blue and pink. From what I understand, dogs are mostly color blind anyway.  Sure, we get that blue is for boys and pink is for girls. But many people would prefer another color, or maybe even a unique print.

DIY Dog Snuggies

A few enterprising individuals have created their own patterns. These patterns may have been created from the basic sizes, but now you can enlarge them to fit a larger animal! Even if you can purchase one that already would fit your dog, this gives you the ability to pick your own colors and prints. You can buy the fabric, and other supplies, in any craft, hobby, or sewing store.

There is one more reason you want to make your own snuggies. You may not like ordering things online or over the phone. Since these are “as seen on TV” dog snuggie products, you may not have the option to purchase one in your local pet store. When you make your own, you can avoid all of those concerns!

You can certainly produce these a lot more cheaply that buying them too. When you consider the price and the shipping charges, purchased out wear can get pretty expensive. When you can start making them yourself, you could create a couple for your own pups. You could also make them as gifts for some other pet owners you know and love.

Why Make Dog Snuggies?
